Help Keep Bradford on Avon the Best Place to Live

One of the reasons Bradford on Avon was recently voted as one of the best towns to live was because of the local community involvement and spirit.
There is so much that goes on in Bradford on Avon that relies on the amazing contribution  of the volunteers in the town:
  • Reporting overweight lorries crossing the Town Bridge
  • Maintaining beautiful gardens
  • Keeping the canal and river areas clear
  • Running a wide variety of clubs and societies
  • Preserving our beautiful buildings
  • Providing services to vulnerable people
  • Running numerous popular events – Duck Race, Pancake Race, May Day, Christmas Lights, Fireworks Display
  • And much, much more…

Without the time and skills of local volunteers, many of these activities would not happen – and extra help is always needed.

Did you realise that the Wiltshire Time Credits scheme recognises the time that individuals give to support the local community. For every one hour of your time you give to helping out your community they give you a one hour time credit back. You can spend your time credit on an activity at the place where you earned your credit, on other local activities and opportunities, give your credit as a gift to someone, or use your time credit elsewhere in the UK network.

Bradford on Avon Town Council, along with Boacan, is providing a fantastic opportunity for local voluntary groups and charities, by inviting them to take part in a

Volunteer Day
at St Margaret’s Hall, Bradford on Avon
on Sunday 7th June between 12noon and 4pm

As part of National Volunteers Week, this is a free event for both exhibitors and visitors.

Volunteering is a great way to get in involved in your community and this is your chance to chat over what you can offer with those who need your help.  Pop in, find out and enjoy a great future…..

Refreshments available.  Free admission
