Town Council Information during Christmas Holiday Closure



IN THE UNLIKELY EVENT OF THE REPEAT FLOODING THAT OCCURRED IN 2013 PLEASE NOTE THAT BRADFORD ON AVON TOWN COUNCIL HAS AN EXPERIENCED AND COMPETENT FLOOD GROUP THAT WILL STEP INTO ACTION SHOULD A FLOOD OCCUR WITHIN THE TOWN CENTRE.

WE ALSO RECOMMEND THAT YOU SHOULD NOT VENTURE NEAR THE FLOOD AREA AND IN THE EVENT OF AN EMERGENCY PLEASE CALL 101.

PLEASE NOTE THAT RESIDENTS OF PRIVATELY OWNED PROPERTIES ARE REQUIRED TO PROVIDE THEIR OWN SANDBAGS

Temporary Road Closure in Downs View Area in February 2016

Wiltshire Council
Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984
Temporary Closure of: Downs View, Downs Close and Westfield, Bradford on Avon
(Ref: TTRO 4091)
Notice is hereby given that the Wiltshire Council has made an Order to close temporarily to
all traffic:
a) Downs View, Bradford on Avon; from its junction with B3108 Winsley Road to its
junction with Magnon Road / Churches.
b) Downs Close, Bradford on Avon; from its junction with Downs View for its entire
length.
c) Westfield, Bradford on Avon; from its junction with Downs View for its entire length.
To enable: Wiltshire Council to carry out kerbing, carriageway resurfacing / patching works,
road marking and adjustment of ironworks.
Alternative route: via B3108 Winsley Road - Churches and vice versa.
The closure and diversion route will be clearly indicated by traffic signs.
This Order will come into operation on 8 February 2016 and it is anticipated that the closure
will be required on weekdays only between the hours of 09.30 and 15.30 until 17 February.


It is anticipated that the works will take the stated duration to complete depending upon weather conditions. Access will be maintained for residents and businesses, although delays are likely due to the nature of the works.

The Town Council's Communications Working Group has been discussing how the council can improve communications with the public.  It has now agreed that the Town Council newsletter will be published quarterly - in February, May, August and November.

An online marketing plan has also been agreed to make more use of social media, website and email marketing.

Temporary road closure in Springfield area in January 2016

Please take note of the following temporary road closure affecting Springfield from 14 January 2016 -21 January 2016  (Daily 07.00 - 19.00 hrs)

Wiltshire Council
Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984
Temporary Closure of: UC Springfield (Part), Bradford on Avon (Ref: TTRO 4065)
Notice is hereby given that the Wiltshire Council has made an Order to close temporarily to
all traffic:
a) UC Springfield (Part), Bradford on Avon; spur road leading from B3019 Springfield
accessing properties 2 – 38.
b) UC Springfield (Part), Bradford on Avon; spur road leading from B3019 Springfield
accessing properties 39 – 89.
c) UC Springfield (Part), Bradford on Avon; spur road leading from B3019 Springfield
accessing properties 3 – 13.
To enable: Wiltshire Council to carry out kerbing, footway resurfacing / patching, road
marking and adjustment of ironworks.
No alternative route is available; access will be maintained for residents. The closures
will be clearly indicated by traffic signs.
This Order which previously came into operation on 26 October 2015 will now recommence
on 14 January 2016 and it is anticipated that the closures will be required daily between
07:00 – 19:00 until 21 January 2016 (excluding weekends). It is anticipated that the works
will take the stated duration to complete depending upon weather conditions.

Christmas Waste Collection Services and Household Recycling Centre Open Times

Residents are urged to check the amended Wiltshire Council waste collection timetable and household recycling centre opening times for the Christmas and New Year period.
There will be no collections on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day (25 and 26 December and 1 January).
Garden waste collections will be suspended from Friday 25 December and restart on Saturday 9 January.

Buy your stamps at Bradford on Avon Town Council Offices and other locations (Tillions, Station Place Chip Shop) and post by 12 December. The Scouts will deliver your post from 13th onwards.

Please support your local Scouts and have reduced postage (Book of 10 stamps for £2)
