Temporary Closure of: UC Cemetery Lane / Woolley Terrace and UC Woolley Street (Part), Bradford on Avon

Temporary Closure of: UC Cemetery Lane / Woolley Terrace and UC Woolley Street
(Part), Bradford on Avon (Ref: TTRO 4321)
Notice is hereby given that the Wiltshire Council has made an Order to close temporarily to
all traffic in the interest of public safety to prevent the inappropriate use of the roads during
major works on Holt Road and to protect unrestricted access for residents and businesses:
a) UC Cemetery Lane / Woolley Terrace, Bradford on Avon; from its junction with
B3107 Holt Road to its junction with Woolley Street.
b) UC Woolley Street (Part), Bradford on Avon; from its junction with B3105 Woolley
Green to its junction with B3109 New Road.
The closures and diversion routes will be clearly indicated by traffic signs.
These closures, which follow emergency notices, will come into effect on 14 June 2016 and
it is anticipated that the closures will be required until 23 September 2016. The Order will
have a maximum duration of 18 months.

At what point does the Town Council and County Council contact residents regarding the necessity or otherwise of this blocking of a public highway - which in any event already has a 20 mph speed limit and restrictions on hgv's access. Perhaps existing speed and access restrictions should be properly signed and enforced before road closures are enacted. The rationale for this closure is fundamentally flawed.

    1. Wiltshire Council are responsible for all road closures and any query should be directed to the Highways department.
